D Brandon Trainer

“Disciplined thought plus disciplined actions equal success”

D Brandon Trainer is the Founder/President/CEO of the Raleigh Black Chamber of Commerce (RBCC). Mr. Trainer is the youngest President of a Black Chamber of Commerce in the United States. Under his leadership the RBCC has grown into the largest black chamber in the state of North Carolina. In addition to his commitment to the RBCC, Mr. Trainer serves the United Black Chamber of Commerce Inc, which reaches 100,000 black owned businesses and supports Black Chambers across the country as a Board Member and Treasurer. Mr. Trainer was recently appointed to the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council by Wake County Commissioners, and also serves on the African American Task Force through the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau.

As quoted by human rights activist Malcolm X “The Future belongs to those who prepare for it today.” The mission of the RBCC is to empower black owned business through networking, thoughtful preparation and education. With this in mind Mr. Trainer has implemented monthly networking events, discounted programs and a myriad of education events that include an ex-offender entrepreneur training series and educational workshops. These tools have assisted black businesses in the Raleigh area to develop, grow and sustain within current and future economic conditions.

Discipline, enthusiasm, dedication and hard work are virtues Mr. Trainer is familiar with. Mr. Trainer started from humble beginnings in Saint Louis, MO. As a young boy he envisioned a life of community service and educational empowerment. He served in the US Army where he was honorably discharged due to a knee injury. Upon relocating to the Raleigh area he networked with local businesses and organizations to create a community of wealth through the growth and development of small businesses.

As a mentor, motivator and leader, Mr. Trainer has dedicated his life to public service and economic expansion of black owned business. He provides business consulting through the chamber in addition to educational opportunities that many communities are not afforded. All of Mr. Trainer’s accomplishments are reflected within his community. He continues to hold the outlook that no life obstacle is insurmountable through faith, tenacity and focus.
